An oil refinery in Russia may have been attacked by a Ukrainian PD-1 or PD-2 drone

An oil refinery in the Rostov region could have been attacked by one of the Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles.

What is known

The video clearly shows that a fixed-wing drone flew into the plant. Judging by the appearance, it could be a reconnaissance drone PD-1 or PD-2. Both have winglets at the ends of the wings. Outwardly, the key difference for a simple layman is the tail. At PD-2 it V-shaped. However, it is difficult to see the type of plumage on the published video.

Recall that PD-2 and PD-1 are Ukrainian-made unmanned aerial vehicles. Both were created by the People's Project organization together with the company UkrSpecSystems. The drone of the second generation is characterized by increased payload, communication range and autonomous flight time.

PD-2

PD-2 has a wingspan of 5 m and a maximum takeoff weight of 55 kg with a payload of 19 kg. This allows the camera to be used with a thermal imager. The drone can reach speeds of up to 140 km/h and climb to a height of up to 4.7 km. The cruising speed is 100 km/h and the maximum communication range is about 200 km.

PD-1

Model PD-1 received wings with a span of 3 m. The drone itself weighs 16 kg, and with a full load - 33 kg. Cruise speed reduced to 90 km/h. Telemetry range - up to 85 km. The practical ceiling is 2 km. The UAV can transmit video in the format FHD 50 km in real time.
